Holiday Inn to invest in in-room technology
Holiday Inn and Crowne Plaza are to spend £9 million upgrading the technology across 61 of their UK managed estate hotels.
The group says the hotels, owned by LRG, will be the first in the UK to offer Panorama High Definition (HD), the latest state-of-the-art in-room digital interactive guestentertainment system.
In addition, guests will have access to secure highspeed internet access throughout all areas of the hotels.
The investment follows an 18-month review of guest requirements.
Will Morris, managing director for IHG UK & I Managed Estate said: “This is a significant investment across all our UK hotels that we feel will meet the changing needs and wants of our guests.
“We’re on track to complete the Holiday Inn relaunch with a £650 million investment across 3,300 hotels worldwide at the end of this year.â€
The upgrade will begin this month and is due to complete in summer 2011.
