Holidaymakers die in boat tragedy
Four tourists have died and 20 other people are missing after a boat party disaster in Thailand.
About 40 holidaymakers were aboard the vessel when it capsized off the island of Koh Samui. Sky News reported that two Britons may be among those who were killed.
The boat was said to be taking part in a “full moon” party, and the passengers were mostly young people in their twenties.
Sky quoted a spokesman for the Thai authorities, Colonel Bundid Tungkaseranee, as saying: “The speed boat was taking tourists back from the overnight full-moon party on Pa Ngan island back to Samui and sank at dawn.”
The accident follows the Asian tsunami tragedy that killed upwards of 5,000 people in Thailand.
