Holidaymakers warned about driving in the heatwave
Holidaymakers in France are being warned about driving in sweltering conditions as heatwave alerts are issued across most of the country.
Weather agency Meteo France has extended heatwave warnings to regions in the centre and south west.
Holidaymakers are warned to avoid being outside at the hottest times of day and to drink plenty of water, even when they’re not thirsty.
Drivers are being advised not to travel during the hottest times of the day, particularly with children.
Only Brittany, Normandy and the far north of the country have been spared the heatwave, but temperatures there are still in the late 20s and early 30s.
