Holidays4U co-founder dies aged 55
Vedat Demren, co-founder of Turkey holiday specialists Holidays4U, has died after a short illness.
Demren, 55, died in hospital in Istanbul on March 30. He is survived by his daughters Simin and Yasemin.
He co-founded Holidays4U in 2002 to provide value for money holidays in Turkey. The company now provides budget flights and holidays to 17 Turkish resorts.
Early this year Holidays4U was featured as one of the fastest growing companies in Britain in the Sunday Times Virgin Atlantic Fast Track 100 annual league table for 2006.
“Vedat has left his mark in the UK travel industry,” said Holidays4U managing director Karen Vyse.
“He will be greatly missed by his many friends here as well as his family both in the UK and in Turkey.
“His legacy is that he has played a major role in developing his home country into the destination of choice for more than two million British holidaymakers and this year Holidays4U will be sending record numbers of passengers to Turkey having doubled our capacity from last year’s previous record, something that gave Vedat great pride.”
