Holland America Line hikes onboard gratuities
Holland America Line has quietly upped its onboard service charges by $1 per guest, per day.
That will take new gratuity fees to $14.50 daily for standard cabins and $16 for suite guests.
The updated prices take effect immediately for sailings beginning December 1, 2018.
The daily service charge remains ‘discretionary’ and can be revised up or down depending on the guest’s perception of the level of service.
Gratuity revenues go direct into the pocket of guest facing crewmembers and other support staff.
It is HAL’s first rise since May 2017.
