HomeAway takes full control of Travelmob

Tuesday, 28 Oct, 2015 0
Online accommodation platform HomeAway has completed the buyout of Singapore-based booking site Travelmob.

HomeAway has acquired the outstanding 31.5% shareholding it didn’t already own in the company.

This paves the way for Travelmob to be integrated into HomeAway and will be rebranded as ‘HomeAway Asia.’

Travelmob has about 40,000 private rental listings in Asia.

It will continue to be based out of Singapore and Travelmob’s current chief technology officer Prashant Kirtane will serve as Asia vice president for HomeAway.

The company also announced it has launched 14 country specific HomeAway sites, which include China, Japan, India, Indonesia and Korea.

HomeAway hinted it may make more investments and strategic partnerships in Asia.

The company has a minority stake in Chinese vacation rental company, Tujia and owns Stayz in Australia and Bookabach in New Zealand.
