Greece and Mediterranean Travel Centre is offering some excellent packages to enable your clients to honour Australia’s outstanding military heritage in the Mediterranean.
Greece and Mediterranean Travel Centre programmes includes several important destinations which feature Australia’s military history, with aach year GMTC running a wide range of tours which include Gallipoli and ANZAC Cove.
Although GMTC operates tours to Turkey throughout the year which include Gallipoli, GMTC offers one of Australia’s leading range of tours, which include participation in the ANZAC Day Commemoration services and events on Aril 25th, with GMTC’s 2008 ANZAC brochure out very soon.
ANZAC military history goes far beyond Gallipoli though and Greece and Mediterranean Travel Centre programmes include tours from Cairo to El Alamein in the Western desert of Egypt in which British, Australian, New Zealand and India soldiers halted the German advance in North Africa in November 1942.
The Battle of El Alamein is widely recognised by military historians along with the Battle of Stalingrad as the key turning point of World War II, with this year (2007) marking the 65th anniversary of this crucial battle and surviving veterans and national leaders will gather there in November this year. November 2nd is generally regarded as the culmination of this battle.

This legendary Australian victory altered the entire history of the Middle East and the 90th anniversary will be marked by a re-enactment of the charge by hundreds of Australia, Israeli and Bedouin horsemen as the high point of the official commemoration on October 31, 2007.
