Hoseasons boss joins sector skills council
Hoseasons chief executive Richard Carrick has become a council member of People 1st – the Sector Skills Council for hospitality, travel, leisure and tourism.
The council’s governing body includes Gleneagles Hotels m-d and VisitScotland chairman Peter Lederer, Loch Fyne Restaurants chief executive Mark Derry, Philip Lay, retail dirctor of Welsh brewer Brains and James Horler, chief executive of Spanish restaurant chain La Tasca.
People 1st chief executive Brian Wisdom said: “We asked Richard to join the council because he shares our aim to develop the best staff for and within the industry. He also brings a truly valued tourism perspective to the council.”
Carrick said People 1st gives a forum to ensure the industry’s ‘people’ requirements are recognised in government.
