Davidson Hotel Company To Manage Hilton Pompano Beach Resort

Davidson Hotel Company (DHC) announced in November that it has signed a management agreement to operate the 256-room, 10-story Hilton Pompano Beach Resort, scheduled to break ground in January 2008.

The three-phase, six-acre project comprises two new-build properties, including the Hilton and a second, currently unnamed 317-room hotel with an accompanying marina.  The project, which is owned by Ocean Land Investments, is expected to be completed by 2010.

“This Hilton Pompano Beach Resort will be among Florida’s finest beachfront resorts when it’s completed,” said John Belden, Davidson’s president and chief executive officer.  “This contract expands our rapidly growing resort division and further diversifies our management portfolio.

DHC, a hotel management company, has also executed a technical services agreement (TSA) to provide pre-construction and design services, including assisting and advising owners with the selection of all FF&E, operating equipment, supplies and IT systems.

Located at 1350 S. Ocean Blvd./A1A, the Hilton Pompano Beach Resort will be built first and will feature a 6,500 square-foot ballroom, 5,000 square feet of state-of-the-art meeting space, top-of-the-line spa and exercise facilities and a full-service restaurant.  The second property will be located on the opposite side of A1A and will be connected to the Hilton by two pedestrian bridges, one of which will be air-conditioned, that will cross over the highway.

The unnamed property also will include a four-story parking podium that will serve both hotels.  The parking podium is lined with garden-style guest rooms on the A1A frontage to promote a sleek residential look.  The 1950s-era Ramada Inn currently occupying the site will be demolished.

Boca Raton-based Ocean Land is one of the largest owners of oceanfront and waterfront parcels within the tri-county area of South Florida.
