Hotels find new income source in parking lots
Hotel guests who thought they heard it all about new chargeable services may be surprised at the latest: income-producing parking garages.
“Smart hoteliers are turning their parking operations into sizable profit centers, resulting in incremental revenue and even more heads in beds,” wrote Hotel & Hotel Management.
At the end of the day, hotel operators need to look at the parking stall in the same way as a room,” said Brian Falvey of HVS/Ultimate Hotel Parking Solutions.
Some hotels are charging anywhere up to $15 a night for parking for special events. Some airport-close hotels are even starting profitable “park and fly”
operations.
Does this mean that guests pay less for parking? Apparently not.
