Hotels turn to deals to stimulate business

SINGAPORE – Hotels deals are flying out the door as the major hospitality brands figure out ways to maintain market share in tough times.

IHG worldwide is rewarding a two-night stay with one free sale. All guests who stay at any of IHG’s portfolio of hotels between May 4 and July 3 2009 will receive a free night at another hotel of their choice to use between July 3 and December 26, 2009.

Guests must be a member of the hotel’s loyalty programme, Priority Club Rewards, which is free to join.

Accor is marking the 21st birthday of Sydney’s Darling Harbour by offering a night’s accommodation or a meal including a beer or glass of wine at one of Accor’s Darling Harbour Hotels for $21.

When staying at Novotel Sydney on Darling Harbour or Ibis Darling Harbour on any Saturday night throughout May, guests can stay on the Sunday for just an extra $21.

Elsewhere, Peninsula Hotels has an offer s across the eight Peninsula Hotels in Hong Kong, Bangkok, Manila, Tokyo, Beijing, New York, Chicago and Beverly Hills.

From May 1 to September 15, 2009, guests can take advantage of special room rates, a hotel credit of US$100 per stay and a gift certificate to enjoy a complimentary night in any Peninsula hotel worldwide.

The complimentary night must be redeemed in conjunction with one consecutive night paid at the rack rate of the redeeming hotel.
