Hotels4U expands Canary Islands portfolio

Monday, 16 Jun, 2006 0

Trade-only accommodation supplier hotels4U.com has increased its Canary Islands hotels by 30% to over 300 for winter 2006/07.

Its new Gran Canaria product went live on the hotels4U.com website last Wednesday, followed by Tenerife this week. Lanzarote and Fuerteventura are due to be launched next week.

Product manager Simon Barnes said: “Summer bookings for the Canaries were up by 42%, and sales for winter 2005/06 were 160% up on 2004/05.

“This can largely be attributed to competitive pricing, as all our Canary island hotels are contracted direct and not through a third party.”

He said short breaks are also on the increase, thanks to the islands being well served by airlines.

“During winter, BA is flying daily to Tenerife, six days a week to Gran Canaria and five days a week to Lanzarote.

“Agents are using these flights to book short winter breaks for their clients and we have noticed a good level of three and four-night bookings for our five-star hotel range.”

Lead-in prices are £11.59 per person per night for two-star plus self catering accommodation in Gran Canaria.

Five-star all-inclusive in Fuerteventura starts at £35.53 per person per night.

All prices include 15% commission.
