How high is the bar in Bali?
SINGAPORE – Effusive media releases extolling the virtues of properties from the Maldives to Malacca have bombarded TravelMole ‘s inbox of late.
The Mole was especially amused when two releases from Bali arrived within minutes of each other.
Both were similar in that they both wanted to raise the bar. The mythical bar, that is, not the one The Mole favours, the watering hole at Seminyak’s Ku De Ta restaurant.
The first release was from IHG in Singapore talking about the new Holiday Inn in Bali. It quoted general manager Stéphane Varoquier, saying,
“We are raising the bar and redefining the next generation of Holiday Inn Resorts serving the next generation of guests.â€
And this from Ritz-Carlton, which is about to become the Ayana resort.
“We will raise the bar of excellence at this spectacular resort. First and foremost will be our commitment to providing unparalleled service. Developed specifically to cater to the needs of today’s luxury traveler, our trademark Quality Services Program will reshape service standards at Ayana.â€
Naturally.
