Huge fire grounds all London Luton flights
All flights at London Luton Airport are currently grounded after a huge fire ripped through a car park close to the terminal building.
The airport says flights are currently suspended until the 15:00 this afternoon.
The airport fire has caused ‘significant structural collapse’ of the terminal car park which is about five minutes’ walk from the terminal building.
The Bedfordshire fire service estimates about 1,200 cars were in the car park at the time.
Four firefighters and one airport worker were taken to hospital due to the effects of smoke inhalation,
Video forage caught huge flames from the top of the multi-storey building late on Tuesday.
Bedfordshire Police has urged people not to go to the airport.
It left many people stranded late on Tuesday.as arriving passengers were unable to get their vehicles
Passengers spoke of large flames and the din of car alarms going off and ‘loud explosions.’

Bedfordshire Fire Service said 15 fire crews fought the airport fire.
Incoming flights after 9pm were diverted to London Gatwick Stansted and even to Manchester.
The grounding is expected to impact as many as 40,000 passengers.
“Access to the airport is currently restricted and we ask that people do not travel to the airport at this time. Further updates to follow,” the airport tweeted.
The airport’s website says the car park that went on fire is located “just a five-minute walk to the terminal entrance”.
