Hugh Riley steps down as CTO secretary general
Caribbean Tourism Organization secretary general Hugh Riley is stepping down after a decade at the helm..
CTO director of finance Neil Walters, will replace Riley in an acting role while a permanent successor is found.
Rile is now on pre-retirement leave ahead of his scheduled end date at the end of June.
Rile has been the public face and chief spokesperson of the CTO and the secretary general position is responsible for implementing the strategic direction which is planned by the council of ministers and commissioners of tourism along with the CTO board of directors.
As a regional organization, the CTO provides support for sustainable tourism development, marketing, communications and HR development.
Before taking the general secretary position, Riley was New York based director of marketing for the organization from 2002 and spent two decades in senior tourism management position across North America and the Caribbean.
