HWT not downhearted by downturn
FIJI – More than 300 Harvey World Travel agents who attended the 2009 HWT Frontliners conference at the Shangri-La Fijian Resort and Spa last weekend heard managing director David Rivers strike an optimistic note.
“Despite the current economy, there remains a sizeable number of people still travelling – domestically and internationally – and it is up to us to give that number a boost,†he said.
“There is also, for example, plenty of market-share to be had in domestic travel, as according to AOT Holidays, 78 percent of Australians travel domestically.â€
Awards at the conference went to:
Brochure of the Year, Sunlover Holidays
Airline of the Year, Singapore Airlines
Principal of the Year, Harvey’s Choice Holidays
New Talent Award, Jasmine Hughes from HWT Broome
Consultant of the Year, Clare O’Keefe from HWT Noosa
Paul Fleming Award, Lisa McLachlan
