Hyatt Hotel Canberra GM recognised as AHA Member of the Year
Karl-Werner Diefenbach, GM of the the Park Hyatt in Canberra has been recognised as the Australian Hotels Association’s ACT Member of the Year at the AHA Awards for Excellence.
Mr Diefenbach has held the position since 2002, with the Hyatt Hotel Canberra, Canberra’s only 5-star hotel is located on the shores of Lake Burley Griffin and a short stroll to Canberra’s attractions.
AHA General Manager Steven Fanner said the Association’s most prestigious award was a fitting recognition, “As Canberra’s only 5-star hotel, Hyatt Hotel Canberra has long held a responsibility for the image of the city in the eyes of visitors and locals alike.” “From accommodating U.S. Presidential delegations to hosting the Red Shield Appeal breakfasts each year, Hyatt Hotel Canberra is constantly called upon to help present the best image of Canberra”.
“As General Manager for the past five years, Mr Diefenbach has been able to maintain a successful business providing the highest levels of service while balancing this with a sense of responsibility of the hotel’s position as a Canberra icon.”
“Hyatt Hotel Canberra is a prime example of the way the hospitality industry forms part of the fabric of the local community and we congratulate a thoroughly deserving winner of this award in Karl Diefenbach”, Mr Fanner said.
Hyatt Hotel Canberra was also awarded, Best Deluxe Hotel for the ACT, and will represent the ACT in the national AHA Awards.
