Hyatt planning first new build Alila resort in US
Hyatt Hotels Corp is planning its first new build Alila resort in the Americas.
It has chosen Encintas, near San Diego as the location for the second Alila hotel in the US after Ventana Big Sur, an Alila Resort.
Alila Marea Beach Resort Encinitas is slated to open in early 2021.
The resort will have 130 keys including 16 suites, as well as a restaurant with a rooftop patio, a pool and signature Spa Alila.
It will have a bike valet and electric vehicle charging stations and direct access to the beach below the resort via a publicly accessible staircase and walking path.
The resort is designed by San Diego-based Joseph Wong Design Associates and Mark Zeff Associates is in charge of interior design.
It will have a typical SoCal design aesthetic and ambience, Hyatt says.
The company also announced the appointment of Bob Harter as the resort’s director of sales and marketing.
He will be responsible for the resort’s entire sales and marketing efforts and developing pre-opening business strategies.
