Iberostar sees revenues rise by 12%
Spanish chain Iberostar Hotels & Resorts achieved record turnover of €728.5 million last year, up 12% on 2005’s figure of €650 million.
The Majorca-based company plans to invest €280 million over the next two years opening 12 hotels, including six in the Mediterranean region plus further expansion in the Caribbean and Latin America.
This follows €298 million spent in 2006 on new hotels and refurbishment of existing properties.
The group has 98 hotels and will open its 100th property in Montego Bay, Jamaica in May.
Marketing director Heike Genshow said: “Last year we launched the Thai Zen Space, authentic Asian spa experiences in selected Spanish properties and this year we will be rolling out a dedicated Butler Service.
“Thirty per cent of our customers are repeat visitors and we are constantly looking for new ways to enhance their experience by listening to their feedback and providing new services.”
