Iconic Miami Beach hotel partners with Nobu
Miami Beach’s historic Eden Roc Hotel is planning a ‘hotel with a hotel’ concept with a new Nobu-branded property inside the 631-room resort.
The deal with Nobu Hospitality is for a stand-alone 200-room hotel and restaurant.
Design and layout will be similar to the Nobu Hotel at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, which opened exactly a year ago.
As with the Las Vegas property, creative design will be led by David Rockwell and is expected to open by the end of the year.
The move comes after a troubled two years for Eden Roc.
The previous management company Marriott Renaissance vacated the Collins Avenue property last year after a drawn-out legal fight with the hotel owners.
Nobu Hospitality is the brainchild of Japanese celebrity chef Nobu Matsuhisa in partnership with Hollywood actor Robert DeNiro.
Further Nobu hotels are due to open this year in Manila and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
