Iglu seeking opportunities in Italy and Spain
Iglu.com managing director Simone Clark has been promoted to senior vice president – global supply as the company looks to expand its cruise business.
The company said that in the new role Clark would lead Iglu’s expansion into overseas markets as well as continuing to build on the business’ important relationships with cruise lines in the UK.
Iglu began looking at international markets after securing fresh investment last year and is initially looking at opportunities in Spain and Italy.
Chief executive officer Richard Downs, who will be picking up more of the operational reigns in the UK following Clark’s promotion, said: "Iglu is very excited to be supporting its cruise line partners in their own expansions in Europe and Simone is ideally placed to lead this expansion.
"I am in no doubt that this will prove invaluable for our future development."
Clark added, "After 12 years at Iglu, I’m delighted to take on this new role, which focusses solely on building on our strong relationships with our cruise line partners and other key suppliers.
"The role will mean more travelling in the UK and overseas as we seek to open up and sell into different international markets."
The company are currently recruiting in sales and all other departments for foreign-language speakers.
