First call help with Olympic legacy in London’s East End

A new fund has been launched by IHG to source and invest in environmental and social hospitality innovation

The IHG CR Innovation Fund will identify and invest in partners innovating environmental and societal solutions for the hotel industry.

IHG will run a series of Calls for Collaboration, focused on key questions relevant to its hotels around the world. Proposals for Collaboration can be at any stage of development, from an early stage idea to something with a proven track record and the possibility of going to greater scale, as long as they meet the judging criteria. The innovation Fund will provide cash grants and/or business skills support to successful applicants following the Call for Collaboration.

The IHG CR Innovation Fund is run by the Corporate Responsibility Team at InterContinental Hotels Group and  governed by the IHG CR Innovation Fund Steering Committee, made up of IHG staff from across the business units.

After the first Call for Collaboration in East London, IHG plans to run a number of different Calls for Collaboration globally.

IHG will run an ongoing series of Calls for Collaboration focused on key questions relevant to its hotels around the world.

London 2012 Legacy is one of the first calls:

IHG’s Holiday Inn brand is the official hotel service provider for London 2012 and it is committed to helping ensure a lasting legacy around its 11 hotels in the six host boroughs of the Olympic and Paralympic games.

IHG is looking for a social enterprise partner that can help IHG hotels amplify their contribution to the Olympic Legacy in the London 2012 host boroughs.

Applications will be accepted from August 29th to October 19th and a shortlist of entries will be published on November 1st.  Judging will take place from November 1st to 18th and the social enterprise(s) chosen to collaborate with IHG will be announced on December 3rd – 12 weeks after the end of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

To participate, you must be a social enterprise operating in one of the six London 2012 host boroughs and trading for a minimum of one year. For full eligibility criteria click here.

IHG is one of the world’s largest hotel companies, with more than 4,500 hotels in 100 countries and territories. Its Corporate Responsibility strategy is based on innovation, collaboration, environment and community. The IHG CR Innovation Fund is a pioneering programme by IHG to bring these themes together through the identification of and investment in partners innovating environmental and societal solutions for the hotel industry.
