IHG signs first avid hotel for Mexico
InterContinental Hotels Group has announced the signing of its first avid hotel in Mexico.
IHG’s new midscale brand will make its Mexico debut in Fresnillo, Zacatecas in mid-2019.
The four story, new-build will have 95 guest rooms and amenities including grab-and-go breakfast and marketplace dining options, work areas and communal spaces.
The avid hotel Fresnillo will offer the brand’s signature services including dedicated workspace in guest rooms, IHG Connect Wi-Fi access and modern exterior hotel design.
IHG unveiled details with Mexico-based Operadora MBA at a signing ceremony in Mexico City.
The brand has now reached more than 100 signings in North America and the first opening in the US takes place this summer at avid hotel Oklahoma City- Quail Springs.
"The avid hotels brand was developed to meet the needs of everyday travelers who are looking for a high-quality, consistent experience from their hotel stay. We were confident this offering would resonate with owners in Mexico," said German Ongay, IHG’s VP of development, Mexico.
