IHG to open Regent Hotel in Shanghai
Hotel giant IHG has announced the signing of its first management agreement in China this year.
It is also the first Regent Hotels & Resorts property since IHG acquired a majority stake in the brand two years ago.
In cooperation with Shanghai 21st Century Hotel Co., the Four Seasons Hotel Shanghai at Pudong will be rebranded to the Regent Shanghai Pudong from May 16, 2020.
All existing reservations will be honoured by Regent.
IHG will also assume the management of luxury apartments housed in the same tower building.
"Welcoming Regent Shanghai Pudong to the Regent family represents a significant milestone for the brand not only in Greater China but also in the world," said Justin Channe, managing director, Regent Hotels and Resorts.
IHG is also rebranding the InterContinental Hong Kong into a Regent hotel which reopens next year and has announced new openings in Phu Quoc, Vietnam, Bali, Kuala Lumpur, and Chengdu, China.
