LONDON – InterContinental Hotels & Resorts’ website, www.InterContinental.com, has taken out Interactive Media’s Best in Class Award for the Hotel/Resort category for 2009.

With an overall score of 480 out of a maximum possible score of 500, InterContinental.com beat off competition from 113 other hotel and resort entries from around the world.

The judges considered design, content, feature functionality, usability and standard compliance and cross-browser compatibility to determine which websites within the category deserved top marks.

Content on InterContinental.com gained full marks (100/100).

Not far behind was design achieving 99 out of 100, feature functionality being awarded 98 out of 100 and usability getting 97 out of 100.

The judges said the new website was “a testament to high quality usability research and excellent planning. The design is beautifully simplistic. The well-thought-out use of modern technologies is also apparent”.
