Intercontinental Hotel Group is bringing its boutique Indigo hotel brand to Phuket.

The 180-room Hotel Indigo Phuket Patong will open on Thailand’s largest holiday island in 2018, and will feature Thai-inspired decor and locally-inspired menus at the hotel’s restaurants and bars.

"Phuket is one of the top resort destinations in Thailand, welcoming more than five million tourists in the first half of this year alone. We are delighted to be launching our Hotel Indigo brand in the Patong beach town with our partners Kebsup Group Company Limited," said Leanne Harwood, IHG vice president of operations, South East Asia.

This is IHG’s second collaboration with Kebsup Group; the two companies partnered for the nearby Holiday Inn Express Phuket Patong Beach Central.

"Hotel Indigo Phuket Patong will cater to travellers who appreciate the unique tastes and cultures that make up the vibrant Patong neighbourhood, and we look forward to providing them with great guest experiences," said Kebsup director Chalermluck Kebsup.

IHG currently has a portfolio of 18 hotels and resorts in Thailand with an additional 13 in development.
