Illegal tour guides accused of causing trouble in Bali
The Association of Indonesian Tour Guides for Bali has called on the authorities to take sterner action against unregistered tour guides.
"The presence of illegal tour guides has caused trouble for legal guides, and sparked unhealthy competition," association chairman, Sang Putu Subaya, told the Jakarta Globe.
"We hope the authorities will be stricter in enforcing the law by intensifying unscheduled checks [raids] at tourist sites," the chairman said.
