In-room shopping at Best Western
Best Western International announced the debut of its new in-room shopping catalog in Arizona, Florida, North and South Carolina hotels.
The chain said it was the first offering of its kind for the mid-scale lodging segment.
Said Rich Bennett, vice president of procurement for Best Western:
“A majority of the products featured in the catalog were chosen because they are not readily available to consumers in the marketplace, and because they are affordably priced under $100.”
He said the move came about because of customer requests to buy the chain’s Comforel pillows. Best Western was receiving hundreds of requests but had no method in place to sell the pillows.
Best Western says it plans to expand the catalog to all US properties next year, and eventually to Canada and the Caribbean.
Catalog items include curved show rods, wall-mounted garment steamers and in-car air ionizers.
