India clears A380s for landing
The Indian government has indicated it will lift restrictions on Airbus A380 flights into the country, a decision that will allow several airlines to deploy the aircraft on their India routes.
The ban had been in force to protect flag carrier Air India and also because of inadequate airport infrastructure.
A380s will be allowed into the country’s four largest airports at Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad and Bangalore, which have infrastructure in place for the operations.
Emirates and Singapore Airlines, two of the largest international carriers operating to India, said they will review A380 plans.
