India’s ride hailing giant Ola launching in London
India’s main ride sharing service Ola is expanding its UK presence, having got the green light to enter the London market.
The Bangalore-based unicorn has been granted a licence for the UK capital and expects to hit London’s roads later this summer.
It will allow black cabs to use the service.
Ola already operates in other UK cities such as Liverpool and Manchester and has about 10,000 partner drivers.
"We couldn’t be more excited to bring Ola to London. We are looking forward to building mobility offerings for London, by collaborating with drivers, riders, the government and local authorities," Ola said.
Under the Transport for London licence, Ola will be able to operate for 15 months, before applying for a renewal at the end of 2020.
