IndiGo eyes US flights via Turkish Airlines codeshare
India’s largest airline IndiGo is planning to offer customers US flights by tapping partner Turkish Airlines.
The airline said it will use its partnership with Turkish Airlines to initially offer customers connectivity to the US and Canada.
“At present, our objective is to enable codeshare connectivity via our partnership with Turkish Airlines,” the airline said.
Long term, it has ambitions to operate US flights itself.
IndiGo says it just received civil aviation ministry approval to wet lease long haul aircraft.
The airline is also in talks for new aircraft with Boeing and Airbus.
This will likely include long haul wide body jets.
It already has around 500 aircraft are on order.
