Indonesia hikes air taxes
Your Bali holiday is about to cost you a bit more.
Indonesia airport authority Angkasa Pura Airports has increased airport taxes on domestic and international flights at five airports, including Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport, where from August 1 taxes will increase from Rp40,000 (US$3.50) to Rp75,000 for domestic flights and Rp150,000 to Rp200,000 for international flights.
The tax at Lombok International Airport will increase from Rp25,000 to Rp45,000 for domestic flights and Rp100,000 to Rp150,000 for international flights, effective immediately.
The airport authority said the tax hike was related to its investments in new airport terminals, including Bali.
