InsightCuba launching new weekend tours to Santiago
With demand for Cuba trips doubling so far this year, tour operator InsightCuba is launching a new Weekend in Santiago de Cuba tour, with nine departures between January and May 2016.
It is the second destination in its Weekend in Cuba series after Weekend in Havana, focusung on the island nation’s second city, a destination rarely visited says Tom Popper, president of insightCuba.
"American travel to Havana is growing by leaps and bounds but Santiago de Cuba offers access to a seldom-visited part of Cuba, one that shouldn’t be missed."
The people-to-people tour highlights include live Cuban music performances, people-to-people activities and lectures, and visists to the El Cobre mountain church, accompanied throughout by a Cuban guide and insightCuba tour group leader.
Prices for the five-day tours start at $2,895 per person for double occupancy.
Since forming in 2000, Insight has sent more than 12,000 guests to Cuba.
Weekend in Santiago de Cuba tours begin on January 15, 2016.
