Ireland via the Gulf
Over 90 people gathered at the Irish Consulate last Thursday night to witness the launch of the new Gulf Air Direct service from Bahrain to Dublin. Champagne flowed, a belly dancer swathed in Emerald green entertained the throng and persian rugs adorned the floor as two cultures combined.
The new 3 times a week service allows travellers to bypass Heathrow and fly direct into Dublin. With complimentary accommodation in Bahrain on the outbound journey it also allows a shopping experience like no other.
Gulf Air has also been awarded the Best Onboard Catering “Skytrax award” in First and Business Class in 2004 and 2005, another compelling reason to try this interesting alternative. General Manager, Australia & South Pacific Cramer Bell, also noted that Gulf Air now provides ” mature passengers”, (over 55’s) 30% savings on Buisness and First class fares as well as offering the innovative Sky Nanny program, a tremendous bonus for families.
Irish Consulate General Anne Webster complimented the teams from Gulf Air and Tourism Ireland on their work in bringing this service to fruition and announced that she would be flying on the service in the next couple of weeks.
