Is ‘niche’ the way forward for the majority of tour operators and agents?
The dramatic rise in independent travel, coupled with the increasing strength of the industry’s leading players, is leading many to believe that operators and agents must ‘go niche’ to survive.
Rather than taking on top companies at their own game, can the rest of the industry exploit the demand for independent travel, by specialising in certain components or certain destinations, and use internet marketing, expert knowledge and personal service to survive and prosper.
