Israel set to welcome record number of tourists this year
Israel expects a record high number of tourist visits this year.
Flights to Israel between January – May are up 4% on the previous record with 9.2 million travelers so far.
Israel tourism officials expect 2.2 million arrivals this month.
By the year-end Israel tourism officials forecasts surpassing the record of 25 million visitors in 2019.
The Abraham Accords have led to direct flights from the UAE, Bahrain and Morocco for the first time.
Also, the end of the no-fly zone over Saudi Arabia has led to more convenient flight options.
Miri Regev, Israel’s Transport Minister recently announced there will be 13 new flight routes to and from Israel this summer.
This follows the introduction of flights from Turkiye, Tokyo, Dublin, Nigeria and Cape Town.
Turkifye flights so far in June represent 15% of all bookings.
Greece, the US, Italy and Cyprus are also top source markets.
