Italian Castle for Christmas
Towering stone walls topped by battlements, suits of armour, tapestries and dining halls set the mode for Christmas in an Italian castle, with Castel Brando, once a Roman fortress, the venue for a four day stay over Christmas and part of an 11 day tour being marketed by Albatross Travel Group.
The tour begins in Munich on December 18, crossing into Austria and its ‘Sound of Music’ lakes district the next day. From there it travels to Salzburg and its Christmas Markets and then on to Innsbruck with an included excursion to Neuschwanstein Castle for a visit to Mad King Ludwig’s apartments.
Guests spend December 23-27 in Castel Brando from where they visit Venice and the Italian ski resort of Cortina d’Ampezzo with a five course lunch served in the castle on Christmas Day.
The tour concludes in Milan, a city famed equally for its football as its fashion. Cost is $3969 per person twin share which includes all excursions, coach touring, tips, hotel accommodation, breakfasts, dinners and Christmas Day lunch.
