Food, wine, castles, culture and art – all part of total natural wellbeing package

Hot on the heels of being named one of the world’s top 100 sustainable destinations, BestofRomagna has launched a special offer to introduce the destination to interested visitors through a limited number of travel agents, group organisers and small tour operators.

The offer has been created to unveil the destination’s enormous 360degree wellbeing potential, combining good food and wine, country house, city center and historic spa accommodation with food and wine tastings, a cultural programme and even a cookery class – all in beautiful surroundings.

Romagna’s green tourism assets include the fact that although it is close to top Italian tourismdestinations (Venice, and Florence) it is still unspoiled and natural. Well known in Italy as the top level food and wine producer, it is also overflowing with art, mosaics and ceramics and liberally sprinkled with hilltop villages and fairytale castles.

Locally famous for its hospitality, wellness, cuisine and artisan shopping – it is a little-known fact that it also has two UNESCO World Heritage destinations and a string of art cities. Romagna’s primary historic city is Ravenna – once capital of the Roman Empire, with an enormous legacy of 1500-year old heritage sites and glorious mosaics. However there are no less than five other cities of art in this small area plus the tiny mountaintop republic of San Marino – also a historic world heritage site.

The extraordinarily fertile area also has numerous top-quality vineyards, and farms and produces superb wines, olive oils, cheeses, hams and beef and a vast range of seasonal soft-fruits. It is also well-known for its many natural thermal spas.

BestofRomagna’s team of specially-selected local co-creators include not only welcoming hosts, but restaurateurs, vineyard owners, master cheese makers, musicians, videographers, artists, thermal spa owners and cookery teachers.

Together, they have created a special one-week program to offer a taste of Romagna which incorporates country-house accommodation, meals, wine, olive oil and specialty food tastings, spa stay, daily activities and visits designed to enjoy the best of Romagna on a 360-degree wellbeing holiday.

On the 8 day/7 night program, guests will experience UNESCO World Heritage Byzantine Ravenna, Leonardo da Vinci’s Cesenatico, and soaring San Marino, They’ll learn to cook Italian at one of Italy’s top cookery schools, stay in a country house and a city-center hotel and taste local wines, local olive oils, cheeses, prosciuttos and other local specialty artisan foods. Carefully-balanced seasonal, locally sourced meals with wine are also included in the offer and above all guests  will experience Romagna’s cherished legacy of stunningly beautiful hills and valleys, medieval castles and its fabulous vistas.

Guide prices are currently less than $1500 for 7 nights including tastings, accommodation, excursions and 6 full meals including commissions and free places. The offers will only be available through a limited number of US Travel Agents, Tour Operators and group organizers.
