ITM and ACTE scrap merger plans
The Association of Corporate Travel Executives and the Institute of Travel Management have abandoned plans to merge.
The two organisations will instead seek a partnership of “increased mutual co-operation.”
Both boards agreed the operational challenges make an alliance more workable than a merger.
A joint statement said the “spirit of collaboration established during the merger discussions will now be extended into a partnership focusing on specific industry issues and objectives such as security, IATA reform, privacy and airborne disease containment.”
ITM chairman Tom Stone said: “This new co-operation agreement will allow ITM to fulfil its members’ educational, networking and career development needs even more effectively and will increase ACTE’s profile in the UK without affecting either organisation’s core values.”
