ITV film crew discovers bodies on tourist beach

A television crew making an “undercover” holiday show was confronted with two dead bodies as it filmed on a beach.

According to the online news provider Ananova, the ITV crew making a “Package Holiday Undercover” programme made a grisly discovery as the cameras rolled in the Romanian resort of Efordie Nord, on the Black Sea coast.

Presenter Jonathan Maitland is quoted as saying: “We saw a man we thought was sunbathing. But when we got closer it was clear he had been dead for some time. It was a grim and shocking discovery – he looked as if he had been badly beaten and we immediately raised the alarm.”

The next day, Ananova reports, the crew returned to the beach – where they found another man dying of a heart attack.

Maitland reportedly added: “The idea of the show is to go to unfashionable resorts and tell it like it is. We expected poor service, cockroaches and bad food – but not two dead bodies in two days.”
