Travel Technology Digest – January headlines:
A quick glance down the months main technology and new media headlines of 2007 probably tells you all you need to know about how things will shape up this year.
Jobs to go at Opodo is evidence that there are still too many players in the market especially with traditional operators and agents fighting back hard.
Online and other new media stories are testament to how important the internet has become as a channel and the importance of enabling customers to be in contact whenever and wherever they want hence Thomson’s decision to have travel pods in shopping centres.
The two newer trends are the emphasis on the environment with some real initiatives being introduced and, how seriously existing players are already taking Web 2.0.
