JetBlue expanding Cuba charter flights
JetBlue announced it is adding another Cuba charter flight this summer.
Through JetBlue partner ABC Charters, an extra flight from Tampa to Havana will begin June 5.
JetBlue already operates three weekly charter flights to Cuba from Tampa and Fort Lauderdale.
"We are ready to serve all types of travel to Cuba as soon as it becomes permissible," said Dave Clark, vice president, network planning.
"Today, we do it via charter, but in the future, whether it’s tourism or business, we are certainly interested in being able to serve those customers."
JetBlue began charter flights to Cuba in 2011, operating 150-seat Airbus A320 aircraft.
"Cuba will one day play an important role in our overall Caribbean network," the airline said in a statement.
