JetBlue opens Cuba ticket offices

Sunday, 06 Sep, 2017 0

A year after launching its first ever flights to Cuba, JetBlue has officially marked its presence with the opening of a downtown Havana ticket office.

It is joined by a second ticket office at Havana Airport.

"I am delighted to inaugurate this ticket office a year and a day after making history with the first commercial flight from the United States to Cuba," Robín Hayes, JetBlue’s CEO said.

American Airlines and Delta Air Lines opened Havana offices earlier this year.

JetBlue remains bullish despite the rollback of Obama-era travel reforms by the Trump Administration.

Rules were tightened once again making travel more difficult.

More than 300,000 Americans visited Cuba in the first half of 2017 which has doubled compared to the same period of 2016, according to Cuban government data.
