JetBlue paying frequent flyers’ PreCheck fees

Saturday, 05 Jul, 2016 0

JetBlue Airways’ latest effort to help speed up TSA wait times will see some flyers get enrolled in the TSA PreCheck program for free.

For a limited time the airline will cover the cost of joining the program for TrueBlue members at Mosaic status.

"Reducing time and the complexity of the security checkpoint makes a big difference for travelers, especially those who are always on their way to catch a flight," said Scott Resnick, director of loyalty marketing at JetBlue.

Qualifying TrueBlue members that don’t yet have a Known Traveler Number have been contacted by email with a special promotional code that can be used as payment for the application fee.

It is valid for members who reached Mosaic level by June 30, 2016 and can be redeemed through September 30, 2016.

TSA PreCheck gives travelers expedited screening at US airports without the need to remove belts and shoes, and registered passengers use dedicated fast track lanes.

The PreCheck enrolment fee, which involves a personal appointment, normally costs $85 and is good for five years.
