JetBlue, United exploring partnership deal
JetBlue Airways is reportedly in talks to establish a new airline alliance.
Following the failure if the Northeast Alliance with American, New York based JetBlue is in discussions with United Airlines about a partnership.
Few details are known yet about a possible tie up.
Reuters reported a deal would unlikely to be a full airline alliance arrangement.
It would however likely include a codeshare and reciprocal loyalty partnership.
American Airlines this week sued JetBlue seeking outstanding payments which it says were due under the original terms of the Northeast Alliance deal.
The Northeast Alliance was blocked by the DOJ in 2023.
JetBlue’s planned acquisition of Spirit Airlines was also blocked over antitrust concerns.
