Jetstar and Virgin Blue show compassion to Tassie travellers
A report in www.news.com.au says that Jetstar and Virgin Blue showed compassion towards Tasmanian travellers who were delayed by yesterday’s traffic chaos in Hobart, with at least 65 people missing flights to Melbourne and Sydney because of unexpected traffic delays.
Jetstar corporate relations manager Simon Westaway said about 40 people missed a 2.55pm Jetstar flight to Melbourne, which meant the flight left Hobart missing about a quarter of its passengers.
“If anyone misses a flight because of the accident on the bridge they will be moved without charge to the next available flight, put on the next flight of their choice or offered a refund,” he said.
“For each flight we do usually have a few no-shows but not this many – it was due to the traffic.”
Virgin Blue public relations manager Amanda Bolger said about 25 people missed an afternoon flight to Sydney and were moved to the next flight without charge.
