Jetstar announces first ever Brisbane to Rarotonga flights
Jetstar will start flying direct between Brisbane and Rarotonga in May 2026.
The airline is marking new flights to the Cook Islands with sale fares available today.
The new service will operate three times a week.
The route will provide more than 50,000 seats to and from Rarotonga each year.
Flights will be operated on Jetstar’s A321neo LR aircraft.
It marks the airline’s second direct route from Australia to the Cook Islands, following the launch of direct Sydney to Rarotonga flights in June 2023.
Jetstar is the only airline offering direct flights between Brisbane, Sydney and Rarotonga.
Queensland remains a focus of Jetstar’s growth with more than half of the airline’s domestic network connected to the state.
In the past six months alone, Jetstar has launched or announced six new international routes from Queensland:
These include Gold Coast to Bali (Denpasar) and Hamilton and Brisbane to Cebu (Philippines).
Jetstar Group CEO, Stephanie Tully said: “We’re thrilled to be launching direct flights from Brisbane to Rarotonga, a true South Pacific gem.”
“This new route builds on the incredible demand we’re seeing out of Queensland.
Cook Islands Prime Minister Mark Brown hailed the new airlift.
“Tourism is the backbone of the Cook Island’s economy. The new services from Jetstar will provide a major boost to our tourism sector and the financial impact for local tourism operators will be positive.”
