Jetstar Asia completes final flight
Budget carrier Jetstar Asia has completed its final ever flight from Singapore, bringing the curtain down on its 20-year history
The short hop to Kuala Lumpur officially marked the end of departures from Singapore.
The last departure was waved off by a large group of workers at Singapore Changi.
Qantas announced earlier this year that the Jetstar Asia airline brand would shut down.
It blames the rising cost of flying from its Singapore Changi base.
Jetstar Asia was established in December 2004 through a joint venture between Westbrook Investments and Qantas
While Jetstar Asia is no more, the main Australia based Jetstar Airways brand continues as does regional unit Jetstar Japan.
Jetstar Asia’s planes are being redeployed on routes in Australia and New Zealand.
