Jetstar, Darwin now best of friends

Tuesday, 13 Oct, 2010 0

Jetstar and Darwin Airport appear to have settled their differences, over pricing, clearing the way for extra return flights from the Northern Territory.

Jetstar this week announced more than 70 weekly return services from Darwin to Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Bali, and its intention to fly direct to Manila.

Qantas also announced direct flights to Melbourne from Darwin.

The airport also announced a $100 million upgrade, including a $35 million terminal upgrade over the next two years.

Jetstar did not disclose details of the new arrangement with Darwin Airport, citing commercial confidentiality.

Airport CEO Ian Kew said the pricing would be published online when it was finalised.
