Royal Caribbean’s Jewel of the Seas is to get a multi-million dollar makeover early next year.

The 11-year old ship will undergo an extensive overhaul which will include the addition of 25 new cabins.

This includes a new two-bedroom family suite and 24 outside and balcony staterooms.

The refurbishment will see the introduction of new dining venues Giovanni’s Table, Vintages and Izumi, while existing Chops Grille steakhouse will be upgraded.

Jewel of the Seas will also get a new poolside movie screen and Royal Caribbean’s high speed internet service VOOM throughout the ship.

The work is expected to be completed by April 2016 when the ship will sail Eastern Mediterranean cruises from Rome throughout the summer.
